Making sacrifices to see your child in a better place in life is not new to many parents but what is truly special is raising a child who acknowledges those efforts and seeks to return the kindness of their parents. Such is the example of a National Youth Corp member identified simply as Iyanuoluwa.

In a video that has now gone viral, Iyanuoluwa’s mother was moved to tears as her daughter mimed a parade and gave an emotional speech saluting her mother whom she appears to be obviously indebted to. The fond moment is ,however, not cherished by Iyanuoluwa and her mother alone; thousands of Nigerians are equally swoon over by the depth of character that the Corp member has shown towards her mother whom she says single-handedly raised and funded her education through school.

Clad in her full NYSC uniform, the grateful daughter marched towards her mother then saluted her, saying:

“Three hearty cheers to my mother for single-handedly raising me, training me, sending me to school till I became a corper.”

The corps member’s voice shook as she saluted her mother. Her mother was also in tears and is seen wiping at her eyes in the video.
