Pregnant Mum Expecting A Girl After Hospital Scan Gives Birth To Boy

Mum-to-be Claire Sumners was thrilled when a hospital scan revealed her first born would be a girl.

Claire and husband Chris chose a name and painted the baby’s bedroom pink. Friends and relatives gave them pink baby clothes, pink cashmere booties, a pink baby bouncer and pink blankets. However, after a gruelling 30-hour labour, Claire gave birth to a boy.

Dad, Chris, 36, a civil engineer, said: “We couldn’t believe it…We had told everyone, painted the room and chosen the name and everything. We were supposed to be having little Bo but it turned out to be little Jack.”

Claire, 37, said: “After he was delivered, we asked ‘is she alright’, and the doctor made this face and said ‘he’s a boy’…He is an adorable baby and he looks pretty in pink – as pretty as a baby boy can look in pink.”

She added: “All of our friends have had little boys so we kept saying they were all going to be fighting over ‘her’ – we even had some potential suitors. But most of our friends baby boys are six months older than Jack so we’ve had a lot of hand-me-downs. All his blankets are pink though and sometimes he just wears pink.”
