Indian Love: Teen Boy and Girl Commit Suicide

A minor girl and her boyfriend allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves with the same stole at her house in Rajasthan’s Bundi district, the India Times reports.

According to the media, the police have found some love letters from the boy’s purse and suspect that they ended their life on Sunday, depressed over their family’s opposition to their relationship. They were from different castes, police said.

According to the police the house belonged to the girl whose study’s entrance was different from the house’s main entrance so the boy was able to get in and out without getting noticed. The boy, Sonu Kumar, lives in the neighborhood, police said.

The girl’s family got suspicious when they saw that the study’s windows had been covered with pieces of cloth. They knocked on the girl’s door several times but she didn’t respond.

When they peeked into the room, they found the couple hanging. “The family members informed the police. We had to break open the window to gain entry into the room,” a police officer said.

The officer said that the girl and the boy studied in different schools but developed a relationship because they lived in the same locality. “During preliminary investigation, it has come up that the family members had got to know about their relationship which they protested because one, they were teenagers and second, they come from different castes,” the officer said.

The officer added that the police have found some love letters from the boy’s purse. “These love letters are handwritten. We are getting the handwriting verified, but they clearly prove the fact that the couple was into a relationship. The body has been handed over to family members after a postmortem examination. Further investigation is going on,” the officer said.
