Update: Missing Girl Who Left Home After Row With Mum & Stepdad Found Dead

Police found the body of missing 13-year-old Amber Peat, who stormed out of the house after a row with her mum and stepdad over chores, (read here) last night.

The body was found near a path close to houses in Westfield Lane in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, around half a mile from the home Amber shared with her parents.

Nottinghamshire Police however said they were not treating the death as suspicious.

Officers had retrieved no CCTV footage of her and there had been no reported sightings.

Mr Peat, 31, reportedly said she may have been inspired to leave home by a book she was reading before she left the family home.

The book, Lola Rose by popular children’s author Jacqueline Wilson, tells of a young girl who runs away to London with her mother and brother.

Mr Peat said Amber left home after she was old to clean a cool box that they had sandwiches in for the journey home after a fun holiday.

‘I’m sure all teenagers are the same, she didn’t want to do a chore. That was the last conversation,’ he said.
