Couple Go On All Day Drinking Binge With 3-Month-Old Baby
A mum and dad who took their three-month-old baby on an all day drinking session were arrested after concerned bar staff at a pub on Deansgate Locks called for help around 5.20pm when they became worried about how much the couple had drunk.
They were also concerned the baby boy had been left in direct sunlight all day.
The 42-year-old man, presumed to be the father, had been drinking in the city centre from 11am on Wednesday morning.
Bar staff estimated that he had drunk up to nine pints of strong lager.
The child’s 33-year-old mother, who lives in the city centre, had joined the man around lunchtime and had also drunk two bottles of wine.
The police tracked the pair down to a city centre apartment where they found more alcohol. They arrested the pair at 7.15pm for being drunk and in charge of a child.
The child’s grandmother, who lives in Stockport, was called and came to pick up the baby.
