Soldier Accused Of Fatally Shooting Wife’s Lover Found In His Home

A US Soldier has been accused of killing his wife’s lover he found when he come home on Saturday.

According to NY Daily; Police say Mealy, a 31-year-old chief warrant officer, drove over 900 miles to Georgia from his training in Texarkana in northeast Texas on Friday night following a reported robbery at the house, WTOC-TV reported.

A fight broke out between Mealy and the as-yet-unidentified victim when he found the male friend with his as-yet-unidentified wife at around 12:15, Hinesville Police Department Lt. Susy Jackson told the TV station. Mealy allegedly shot the man several times in the stomach and chest.

Emergency personnel rushed the wounded man to Liberty Regional Medical Center, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital, said Chief of Detectives Thomas Cribbs, according to WSAV-TV.

The other man and Mealy’s wife won’t be publicly identified until their relatives can be notified, WJCL-TV reported.
Mealy apparently spoke to his wife following the alleged burglary at 10:45 p.m. on Friday night, Jackson told WTOC.

“She told him not to worry about it because police had been here,” Jackson said. “This morning, she had a friend that came over, and then later her husband shows up.”

Mealy now faces a first-degree murder charge and no bail has been set for his release, according to county records.
