A teacher at Government College, Ughelli, Delta State, reportedly beat a student mercilessly till he went numb. According to the victim’s older brother, the teacher flogged him hundred times on his buttocks for fighting with another student over a spoon.
The school must have felt embarrassed as they offered to treat the child and prevented his dad from seeing him.
I will burn that school to the ground and that teacher in it. What nonsense? Did the child steal? Even if he did, does it warrant ds kinda beating? Omo that teacher and other teachers better run for their lives if this was more child.

Based upon my experience in English preparatory schools, the boy’s bottom is fairly typical of the marks caused by a good sound caning. If he was fighting then some sharp strokes to his bare buttocks would have been fully justified. My worst caning came at eleven when I was caught out of bounds when I should have been in prep. My housemaster thrashed my bare buttocks severely and took some pleasure in doing so, judging by the prominent bulge in his trousers at the conclusion of my punishment. But it never did me any harm!
