Baby Given Little Chance To Survive Defies Doctors To Live

A couple whose premature baby girl had little chance of survival has defied all odds to live a healthy life.

According to Mirror, Annie May Daddy, who doctors gave a 20 per cent chance of being born alive, was born four months early on December 4, 2014, weighing a wee 1lb 1oz. Her chances of survival looked slim after her weight dropped three days after birth, but despite the fears of doctors, she pulled through without any major problem.

Annie was kept under observation in the hospital until she was declared strong enough for her parents to take her home in March.

The couple, Victoria and Adrian Daddy, who are also parents to three-year-old Elizabeth, are overjoyed with Annie’s progress.

Annie’s mum, Victoria said: “At the start, we were expecting bad news. I didn’t even expect her to come out of the delivery room, so when they took her out I was gob-smacked and over the moon. Since then, we have just taken each day as it comes.”

“We just cherish every day as a family. It is just amazing. If somebody told us at the very start that we would be here, at home, ten months later playing happy families, I would not have believed them. She has just got stronger and stronger. I hope that if any others are in hospital and they hear a really good, positive outcome, it will give them a bit more hope and think that may be us one day.”
