Vietnamese Wife Stomps Thieving Husband to Death

A Vietnamese woman, Le Thi Thuy, 40, has been found guilty of kicking and stomping her husband, Vo Hong Son, 41, to death.

A remorseful Thuy cried all through the trial and testified that she had committed the violent act which claimed her husband’s life, Thanhnien News reports.

Thuy is said to have suspected her ailing husband stole VND 10,000 (US$0.45), which amounted to half of her daily income, to buy himself some wine, in July.

Enraged, Thuy is said to have pushed him, and after he fell down, she repeatedly kicked and stomped him in his head and belly before leaving for her work in the field.

Thuy returned from work later in the day to meet her husband saying he was in pains. He died some minutes later and she misled people the following day by claiming that Son had died from an unexpected stroke. However, while preparing his body for funeral some relatives discovered suspicious bruise marks on the corpse’s face and neck. They reported the case to local investigators who discovered that Son had been ill with a brain hemorrhage and that his intestines had also been damaged.

She was yesterday sent to jail for seven and a half years by a court in Ha Tinh Province, Vietnam.
