Nigerian Woman Gets 9-Year Sentence In the UK for Violent Attack on Lover

31-year-old Kenya Alozie, a Nigerian woman in the United Kingdom has been sentenced to a UK prison for nine years after being found guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent, Punch News reports. Reportedly, Alozie had on Tuesday attacked her lover who was said to be in his 30s, while they were having sex in a certain house in Plumstead.

The police told the Woolswich Crown Court where Alozie was tried that the accused had no fixed abode, and had attacked her lover with a hot iron and a broken bottle in a violent attack. Police also said that she had planned the attack beforehand by keeping the iron hot and having a broken bottle ready. She allegedly used the iron to burn his legs and genitals before “crashing the bottle into him.”

It is said that the victim had to undergo surgery for some of the injuries he sustained in the attack.

The police, however, could not say what her motivation for attacking the man was, a Greenwich policeman, Duncan Clark said that,

“Alozie committed a calculated and pre-planned attack. She ensured she had a broken bottle to hand and a hot iron to strike the victim and seriously harm him.”
The sentence imposed clearly reflects the seriousness of this extremely violent attack,” Clark concluded.
