You Won’t Believe Why a Grandmother Tortured Her 8-Year-Old Grandchild
A grandmother identified as Bosede Adebayo is in trouble for allegedly torturing her eight-year-old grandchild yesterday in the Ijeun-Tuntun/Olorombo community of Abeokuta in Ogun State.
She reportedly tortured the victim, Tope Oke, a primary two pupil, with a hot pot for eating part of the rice she brought from a party without her consent.
According to New Telegraph, she had returned from the party and kept the rice in the kitchen. Her hungry granddaughter was said to have later eaten a portion of the food which got the suspect annoyed.

A witness said the grandmother first beat the victim mercilessly before using the hot pot to inflict injuries on her body, adding that the incident forced neighbours and other residents to alert the police and officials of the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development. The suspect was promptly arrested and taken to the Ibara Police Station, Abeokuta, where arrangements were being made to transfer the case to the Anti- Human Trafficking Department.
The girl is now on admission at the State Hospital, Ijaiye, Abeokuta while Adebayo remains in police custody.
