Teacher In Edo Bags 4-Years For Sexually Assaulting A 13-Year-Old Girl

A 47-year-old man and father-of-three, Rotimi Olayemi has been sentenced to 4-years imprisonment for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl. He was on Wednesday sentenced by an Egor Magistrate Court in Benin, Edo state to 4-years imprisonment on four counts bothering on sexual assault.

According to PUNCHNG, Olayemi is said to be an English teacher at the King of Kings College, Benin.

Mrs Osasu Ewemade, Olayemi`s prosecutor told the court that the convict committed the evil act in his office in the school premises.

Mr Olayemi was said to have invited the 13-year-old pupil of the school to his office where he hugged, kissed, fondled her and also dip his hand into her private parts.

The prosecutor added that the offence Olayemi committed contravened section 360 of the Criminal Code, Cap 48, Vol. II, law of the defunct Bendel State of Nigeria, 1976, as applicable in Edo.

Mrs Igho Braimoh, the presiding magistrate found him guilty on all counts and sentenced him to one year in prison for each count and should be run concurrently.

She also gave an option of fine of N50,000 for each of the counts.
