Husband Demands Compensation After Wife Files For Divorce After 3 Years Of Marriage

A 36-year-old husband, Edaih, has demanded compensation from his wife, Uche, who filed for divorce, for his wasted three years of marriage to her, adding that she only allowed him intercourse with her in the first two months of their marriage.

PM news learnt that the jilted husband revealed these while testifying following a divorce petition filed by Uche at a Grade 1 Area Court, Aso Pada, Mararaba, in Nasarawa State.

Uche had filed for divorce over Edaih‘s alleged irresponsible behaviour, claiming they separated about 3 years ago and their union produced no child.

Stating he had no problem with the court granting the divorce, Edaih added,

“But I demand compensation for wasting my years with her in the name of marriage. Since 2013, we got married, I only slept with her the first two months into our marriage and after then, she never allowed me to touch her, nor will she let me sleep with her.”

Edaih also declared expenses he incurred at their traditional wedding and urged the court to ask her to refund all as he did not enjoy the marriage as expected. He denied allegations of cruelty and infidelity levelled against him by his wife, adding that his wife was in fact the one sleeping around.

The presiding judge, Albert Maga, adjourned the case to September 2 for further hearing.
