‘This Is Not A Joke’ – Comedian Basketmouth Reiterates The End Of His 12-Year Marriage In New Interview

Stand-up comedian, Bright Okpocha professionally known as Basketmouth, has addressed those who believe his separation from his wife, Elsie, was only a joke.

Recall that in December 2022, after 12 years of marriage, the comedian and Elsie announced their separation in a statement posted on social media (Read Here).

Although some people first believed it to be a prank, Basketmouth has now confirmed that they are indeed separated.

In an interview he had in Ghana recently, the father of four maintained that he’s separated from his wife at the moment but refused to divulge more details about the separation.

He said he and Elsie are ‘cool’ and that he made the announcement after they had celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary.

In his words;

“I am separated right now. People thought it was a joke but it wasn’t. People said is that a way of promoting a show and I’m like you definitely do not know my design.

I do not bring my private matter on a public space. But it was something I needed to do for reasons best known to me. And yes. We were cool. Everything is fine. We completed 12 years.”
