Veteran Nollywood actor, Richard Mofe-Damijo popularly known as RMD has disclosed that it’s hard for celebrity men to be faithful in marriage.
This claim was stated by the actor during a recent interview with popular comedian Teju Babyface, who asked him about marriage and keeping true.
According to RMD, being faithful in marriage is especially very hard for men in the entertainment industry because once they are married, they become targets.
He went on to remark that married men are frequently targets of women with bad intentions, and it is difficult to shake. Not stopping there, the movie star likened women to Jezebel and Delilah in the bible because they come prepared.
The 62-year-old thespian began by saying,
“It is very hard, let’s face it. Every one of us that is married, we are the target, I mean look at women, how can we escape it.”
He went on to compare those women to biblical figures with evil motives who plotted the demise of males in the Bible, such as Jezebel and Delilah, adding that the only way to get over such women’s efforts is to shoot them down with power. He said:
“Women are like Jezebel, they are like Delilah. They prepare The only way you can perpetuate the real intentions of the enemy is to constantly aim at the image of God or the symbol of authority at any time, you shoot it down.”
RMD went on to compare the scenario to that of a commander in the army, emphasizing the need for men to be strong in the face of adversity.
He also mentioned that men should fill in their wives when they face such obstacles, as well as protect themselves against Jezebel-like women.
In his words:
“It’s very hard for entertainers to be faithful in marriage because of the line of work that we are in. Every one of us is married, we are the target. Look at how women are, how can you escape it?
Women are like Delilah, they are like Jezebel, they prepare… The only way the enemy can perpetrate their real intention is to constantly aim at the image of God or the symbol of authority in any home. Then shut it down. It’s like shooting a General on the battlefield.

So, it’s very difficult [to be faithful]. You have to get to the point where your wife understands what she is up against as well. Because if your wife is not up to speed on what she is up against, then you would be left open.”
RMD explained that a woman who is made aware of the challenges her man is facing will protect her man and even if he falls sometimes, she will help to pick him up.
“She will protect her man, he will fall sometimes and fall really bad but she has to be able to help to pick the man up”, he said.
The stylish grandma then went ahead to speak on modern women who might not be willing to forgive their man when he falls.
According to him, they do not understand the roles they have to play and they are not grounded. The actor also noted that it’s important for a man to be remorseful because the wife will be able to see that he is taking responsibility.
RMD is married to television personality Jumobi Adegbesan. The couple got married after he lost his first wife, talk show host May Ellen ‘MEE’ Mofe-Damijo in 1996.
